I am wondering wear to get the practice wear that you use for practice such as the outfits, scarves and coin stuff that you use for your layering affects? As far as costuming where in the world to you get all the stuff to put your costumes together, costume bases and your headpieces? My husband and I love them and he really wants to see me wearing that kind of stuff due to it being appealing and colorful as well as sexay/sensual.

Sorry if I'm not supposed to ask this if it's too personal.

heeeyy :) sorry if I jump in and just say what I ve found out:
I LOOOVE the practice wear Ansuya and the other IAMED stars wear in the instructionals.. had been trying to find out for a long time, IAMED would not answer those questions, sadly.. someone finally told me they are from www.lrosedesigns.com
they have all kinds of fabric and style options for skirts, pants, tops.. you would just check their availability of velvet fabrics in different colours and either order tight or loose pants, specify shirt style..

I hope that is it, I checked out their website and the styles offered do seem to correspond to the beautiful IAMED settings.

As for the headpieces, i d love to know too - but I guess they re custom ordered with the beautiful bedleh sets as they fit them to the tiniest detail :)
harem pants like Ansuya s and different scarves can be found for the first one on lrosedesigns as well (one would select sheer harem pants with two slits :) yes I checked out their website exhaustively!), scarves it depends on which specifically you like..Dahlal has great options for fringe scarves Ansuya often wears beneath bedleh belts, so does sharifwear..
Hope that helped a bit, my costume knowledge so far ;)

Thank you so much for that information dina. It helps for those of us that are new to have guidance and a place to start. I am going to check out the websites now. Again, thank you.

oh you re welcome :))) maybe some more advanced once (I m a beginner student too) or maybe Ansuya herself might be able to give better and more detailed info. is there a particular scarf you are searching for? I own Lavish Layers and Finger Cymbals 1, and most BDSS.. if there s an outfit or scarf on those you particulary are searching for?
or for other dvds there are trailers online anyway.. so feel free to point to a particular scarf you re looking for.

On the professional costumes and belt/bra sets I have no knowledge - no need so far :) but with scarves I own toooo many and watch for them too often online I might be able to help with particular scarf styles :)

LOL, I don't know what the clothing items are called but I like the scarves with the coins and the fringe scarves. I love the costumes that I see Ansuya wear and the head peices. Wonder where to get the head peices she wears as well? I am into the costuming because I would love to perform and teach here in my area but it is new to me as well. I don't have any of the dvd's yet but the stuff in the online class is really pretty. I like the bra's, belts and skirts she wears for her prormances and I really like the chiffon pantaloons. I have her dvd's on my Christmas list hehe. I should get some of them if not all. I have a zill dvd but it's terrible along with some tribal dvd's but my hubby doesn't like the dark tribal look or style. He really liked Ansuya though, but who doesn't after watching her!?

well for the scarves i can give you some suggestions :)
the headpiece - I adore them too, you probably have to order them with the bra/belt set to really fit the colours and style (I own no bra/belt set, they re called bedlah, coz they are REALLY expensive :) ) or if one is talented I think it should be possible to make them out of glass beads and maybe coins.. but I sure couldnt

            ;)

for the ansuya look you might like these scarves:
            www.sharifwear.com/
            or something like this beneath:
            www.sharifwear.com/

she often layers two scarves, one crocheted with fringe, and one with coins or beads that is shorter.

if you go to www.dahlal.com you ll find PLENTY in the "scarves" section. Go to Egyptian for coin or beaded scarves, to oriental shawl for fringe scarves. there are actual fringe skirts Ansuya often wears, you can find them under "accessories" "fringe skirts". Dahlal does not provide links so you ll have to search for yourself.

Moondancebellydance is cheaper and also offers fringe skirts, but dahlal is top quality. I can recomment them without hesitation. If you like the multicoloured scarves Ansuya s often wearing like the one in the free online class, you might want to contact dahlal and ask for unusual patterns for the "Single Row Coin Scarf", that is how the style Ansuya is wearing in the class is called with Dahlal. I recently ordered a VERY pretty black and red glitter pattern. They have unusual patterns not on the website pretty often, you just need to ask for advice via email.
Turquoise international is also offering very pretty coin scarves:
            www.turquoiseintl.com/
this one s very pretty :):
            turquoiseintl.com/store/product_info.php

So hope that gives you some ideas ;)
            take care
            dina

Wow, Dina, you've answered these questions pretty well already!

I do know that Ansuya hopes to build her links page up on her new website, so I believe she may have some costuming stuff there soon. She talks a little about costuming and other questions in her new online classes, too.

Oh, and I believe she makes most of her headpieces....
