Okay, so I really want to get one of the instructional DVD's that Ansuya has lovingly given to us. However, she has many and I have never attempted Cabaret bellydance, so any thoughts on which video to try first? Which one has helped you the most?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Wed, April 2, 2008 - 4:16 AMYes, "Lavish Layers" is great, I keep using it regularly!
But I wondered what is the difference between "Lavish Layers" and "Luscious Layers" - I looked for some informations about it but could not find anything. I'm interested to buy it but I would not like to buy something that would possibly overlap the one I already have.
I'm quite sure it has different materials on each of them, but can someone confirm it, please?
Thanks! -

Wed, April 9, 2008 - 6:26 PMLavish Layers goes over each belly dance movement and show you how to layer a shimmy on top of it. This is excellent for beginners to intermediate dancers!
Luscious Layers is for intermediate to advanced dancers that want to add some crazy layers to their dance. It's not uncommon for the combination to have arms, hips and a travel motion all at the same time!
Both are fantastic! My favorite is still the original Hot Combinations though! -

Well, I have no other choice but to buy both Luscious Layers AND Hot Combinations then! **who said that I'm using all your posts as pretexts to buy these DVDs?!! XD **

Wed, April 2, 2008 - 5:41 PMI like Hot Combinations, and really got a lot of use out of the Finger Cymbals instructional DVD (the first one; don't have the new one yet!). Lavish Layers is good, too, but I guess it was too beginner level for me.

Wed, May 21, 2008 - 8:01 PMHi April!
I would love for you to also see The Magic of Bellydance as it captures the make-up and costuming freedom that Cabaret style has to offer. Have fun!
