Apparently, they turned down a real belly dancer and hired a burlesque Dallas cowboy cheerleader instead... What's wrong with Hollywood? I guess belly dancers weren't slutty enough. (The dancer is Tracy Phillips myspace.com/tracyphillips66)

If youve seen the preview, there is actually a part where she lays on her side in front of the guy and slowly raises one leg up....up....up....and you get a shot of his *WOHOOO* face from between her thighs...*sigh*

Well, I just saw this movie yesterday and the bellydance scene was anything but!!! It was more along the lines of a strip-tease with the "dancer" grabbing on to the wall, crawling on the floor, laying on her side and lifting a leg so the male audience could look in between and finally taking one of the men away with her to do who-knows-what.

One of the characters did say it wasn't like any bellydance he'd ever seen before, but what a travesty. It was disgusting, embarrassing and insulting. Geez, Hollywood! Figure it out already!

I'm glad Ansuya wasn't in this movie. The scene with the dancer was just another detrimant to the battle we fight trying to make sure bellydance is maintained as an art form and not as a bunch of whores on the churchhouse steps.
